Job Description

An established and fast-growing financial services firm in Lombard is looking for a motivated and detail-driven 401(k) Administrator to join its dynamic team. This full-time role offers a hybrid schedule and a competitive salary between $60,000 and $80,000, based on experience, and a chance to make a meaningful impact by supporting a wide range of retirement plan operations. Key Responsibilities of the 401(k) Administrator:

  • Take ownership of the setup of new 401(k) plans, handling all documentation and ensuring a smooth onboarding experience
  • Lead the charge on plan conversions and recordkeeper transitions, managing paperwork and timelines with confidence and accuracy
  • Serve as a trusted point of contact for employers and employees, delivering clear, responsive, and knowledgeable support
  • Stay ahead of the curve with up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, compliance requirements, and best practices
  • Apply creative problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues quickly and effectively
  • Showcase your attention to detail by reviewing plan documentation, maintaining records, and supporting compliance efforts
  • Bring energy and initiative to your work, with strong follow-through that ensures nothing slips through the cracks

Qualifications of the 401(k) Administrator:

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in 401(k) plan administration or a related financial services role
  • Solid grasp of retirement plan regulations, documentation, and recordkeeping systems
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex topics clearly and professionally
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with retirement plan platforms is a plus
