Position Overview:

We are seeking an exceptional  Research & Writing Attorney to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated record of academic excellence, superior legal writing skills, and meaningful experience drafting dispositive motions, appellate briefs, and legal memoranda. This role is ideal for an attorney who thrives on deep legal analysis and persuasive writing rather than courtroom advocacy.

Key Qualifications:

  • Top 10% of law school class
  • Law Review (journal experience required; editorial experience preferred)
  • Judicial internship or clerkship experience or demonstrable experience drafting briefs in federal and/or state courts
  • Exceptional legal research and writing skills
  • Strong command of procedural and substantive legal issues in civil litigation
  • Ability to distill complex legal concepts into clear, concise, and compelling arguments
  • Sitting for the bar or licensed to practice law in Texas or Louisiana or both

Responsibilities:

  • Draft legal memoranda, motions, appellate briefs, and other court filings
  • Conduct in-depth legal research and analyze statutes, case law, regulations, and rules
  • Assist with case strategy by providing legal analysis on key issues
  • Collaborate with litigators to develop persuasive arguments and support trial teams
  • Stay current on legal developments and contribute to knowledge-sharing within the firm
  • Appellate advocacy opportunities
