Internship Overview - Immediate Need!

This is a time-sensitive opportunity for a highly motivated and skilled Unreal Engine 5 Developer Intern to join Vitanya for our Summer Internship program. We are embarking on an exciting project to develop and deploy an innovative VR/AR application specifically for the Meta Quest 3, and we need to establish the development pipeline immediately. This role is critical and offers the chance to make a significant impact from day one. You will gain invaluable hands-on experience with cutting-edge VR/AR technology, work within a forward-thinking team, and contribute directly to a high-priority project focused on health and neuroscience. This is a paid internship.

Key Responsibilities

Pipeline Development: Take a leading role in designing, implementing, and refining the development pipeline for our Meta Quest 3 VR/AR application using Unreal Engine 5. This is an immediate priority.

VR/AR Development: Develop, prototype, and implement core features and systems for the VR/AR application within Unreal Engine 5, utilizing both Blueprints and C++.

Quest 3 Optimization: Focus heavily on performance optimization, ensuring the application runs smoothly and efficiently on the Meta Quest 3 hardware constraints.

Collaboration: Work closely with designers, potential artists, and other stakeholders to translate concepts into functional and engaging VR/AR experiences.

Testing & Debugging: Rigorously test and debug the application directly on Meta Quest 3 hardware, identifying and resolving issues promptly.

Best Practices: Research, learn, and apply industry best practices for UE5 VR/AR development, particularly for standalone headsets like the Quest 3.

Requirements

Strong Unreal Engine 5 Skills : Demonstrable proficiency and hands-on experience with Unreal Engine 5 are essential. This includes a solid understanding of the UE5 editor, Blueprints, and C++ programming within the engine. Please highlight your UE5 experience clearly in your application.

VR/AR Interest/Experience: Proven interest or prior experience in developing VR and/or AR applications. Familiarity with VR interaction paradigms and design principles is crucial.

Pipeline Understanding: Understanding of or a strong aptitude for quickly learning and implementing game/application development pipelines (e.g., version control integration, build processes, asset workflows).

Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in debugging and optimizing performance-sensitive applications.

Proactive & Driven: Ability to work independently, take initiative, and thrive in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment, especially given the time-sensitive nature of this project.

Education: Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Game Development, Software Engineering, or a closely related technical field.

Teamwork & Communication: Effective communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience specifically targeting Meta Quest platforms (Quest 2, Quest 3) and familiarity with the Meta XR SDK (formerly Oculus SDK).

Portfolio showcasing personal or academic projects built in Unreal Engine 5, especially any VR/AR projects.

Experience with performance profiling and optimization tools within UE5.

Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Git, in a collaborative environment.

Basic understanding of 3D asset creation and integration pipelines.

Interest in the intersection of technology, health, wellness, or neuroscience.
