Job Description

General:  

We are seeking a skilled and proactive General Counsel to lead all legal matters related to Autel’s U.S. operations. This role will serve as the chief legal advisor, overseeing commercial agreements, regulatory risk, corporate governance, and litigation matters. You will also support government relations initiatives and advise on emerging policy issues relevant to Autel’s business and technology. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES  

Legal Strategy & Risk Management:  

  • Serve as the primary legal advisor for Autel’s U.S. executive team and business units. 
  • Oversee all legal matters including contracts, intellectual property, employment law, data privacy, and regulatory risk. 
  • Manage relationships with external legal counsel and coordinate litigation or dispute resolution efforts as needed. 
  • Provide legal guidance for U.S. business development, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships. 

 

Corporate & Regulatory Compliance:  

  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations affecting business operations, product standards, and data practices. 
  • Work closely with compliance and data teams to maintain strong legal alignment with privacy, cybersecurity, and ESG obligations. 
  • Oversee corporate governance and support ongoing legal documentation and filings. 

 

Policy & Government Affairs Support:  

  • Monitor legislative and policy developments impacting the EV, automotive tech, and data sectors. 
  • Support internal teams in preparing responses to government inquiries, proposed regulations, and industry policy discussions. 
  • Advise on Autel’s engagement with government agencies, trade groups, and policy coalitions. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS  

  • J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school; licensed in NY or CA ability to practice under NY or CA in-house counsel rules. 
  • 7+ years of legal experience in a corporate or regulatory environment, preferably in tech, energy, or automotive industries. 
  • Strong understanding of corporate law, contracts, product liability, and regulatory compliance. 
  • Exposure to U.S. government relations or public policy issues relevant to international or tech-based businesses, preferably for Chinese businesses.
  • Experience advising on or monitoring public policy, preferably with some knowledge of government affairs. 
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a high level of integrity and strategic thinking. 

 

 

Job Type: Full-time 

 

Pay: $190,000 - $220,000 annum 

 

Work Location:  

  • Remote or Hybrid
