Job Description

As the leader of General Mills Global Content Studio (Studio G), you will oversee the production of marketing content that brings our portfolio of market leading brands to life. This role requires a visionary and resourceful leader who will help define, launch, scale and run Studio G, our new global content studio. You will set the strategy and approach for how to efficiently and effectively produce marketing assets that enable our marketing communications plans to come alive to engage and connect with consumers and/or our retail partners. You will lead a savvy team of global content creators and creative production experts comprised of both General Mills employees and a network of external agency and specialist partners. Working as an integrated "internal agency," you will steward an annual production budget of approximately $50 million including video, audio, digital, print and non-traditional production executions across our global brand portfolio. A core aspect of this role involves setting the vision and roadmap for how our production team, agency partners, capabilities and ways of working need to evolve as consumers, technology and the marketplace in which we compete continues to rapidly change. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Engage with and guide leaders across the Marketing function - Brand Experience, Brand Management and Consumer Insights - as the global head of General Mills content and creative production team
  • Launch, scale and run Studio G, our new integrated global content studio, which creates and produces over 25,000 pieces of content annually to support General Mills global brand portfolio
  • Lead a team of approximately 10-15 internal team members including executive producers, production operations and the company's in-house design team
  • Establish our near- and long-term content creation and production vision, approach, priorities and supporting processes for the enterprise
  • Manage the roster of General Mills agency production partners while maximizing and optimizing internal creative production resources and teams
  • Serve as a point of escalation to solve problems and remove roadblocks as teams work to complete and manage creative productions
  • Maintain, evangelize and enforce creative production guidelines and best practices for General Mills teams and production partners
  • Define, oversee and deliver upon the company's diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging and sustainability pledges tied to creative production
  • Coach and develop a high-performing team focused on creative problem solving, strong collaboration with business partners and producing innovative high-impact work
  • Understand how the production space is evolving - identify and experiment with capabilities in areas like modular content, content automation, asset management, AI production and more
  • Communicate and collaborate with cross-functional partners including Digital & Technology, Finance, Sourcing, Law and Trademark
  • Summarize the output and deliverables of the team against quarterly and annual KPI's and goals

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Communications, Marketing, Advertising, Film, or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in marketing, content creation, production, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience leading a team
  • Hands-on leadership experience creating content for a large national (or global) consumer brand(s), ad agency, production company, post house or similar studio
  • Sound understanding of risk management as it applies to creative, production, rights contracts, talent contracts, privacy and security
  • Communications planning, concepting and content creation for consumer brands such including marketing plan orchestration, especially complex, multi-faceted plans and productions

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

* Familiar with AICP bid sheets, talent negotiation/payments, and creative asset trafficking across all marketing communications channels

  • This role requires you to be in Minneapolis, MN - relocation will be provided

Salary Range The salary range for this position is $124200.00 - $207100.00 / Annually.
