Job Description

Company Overview:

At Composition Wealth, we are a team of forward-thinking financial professionals committed to helping clients navigate complex financial decisions. As one of the fastest-growing wealth management firms in the country, we believe exceptional talent is the foundation of sustainable growth. Just within the past two years our headcount has increased from 50 to 110 and we anticipate doubling every ~2 years from this point forward—both from M&A activity and organic hires. We value integrity, excellence, and nimbleness—and we’re building a culture that reflects these values.

Job Description:

We’re looking for a strategic, hands-on Head of Talent Acquisition. Starting as a one-person team, this individual will be responsible for all aspects of recruiting. Over time they will scale their team as firmwide headcount and hiring needs expand. This individual will own and evolve our talent strategy, working closely with leadership to identify current and future hiring needs, attract top-tier candidates, and deliver a best-in-class hiring experience.

This role has the opportunity to shape how we construct teams at Composition Wealth. They’ll be responsible for building the recruiting function from the ground up—defining process, evaluating tools, managing candidate pipelines, and serving as a thought partner to business leaders across the firm. This role will report to Composition Wealth’s Chief Operating officer with additional reporting requirements to firm leaders and hiring managers.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead recruitment efforts, including sourcing, outreach, relationship management, and coordination with executive leadership.
  • Develop and maintain a strong network of advisor talent within the wealth management space through direct outreach, industry relationships, and participation in relevant conferences and events.
  • Partner with leadership to understand current and future hiring needs—especially as they relate to firm growth and scalability—and tailor recruitment strategies accordingly.
  • Design and execute targeted campaigns to attract advisors aligned with our client-first approach and growth strategy.
  • Create compelling recruiting materials that articulate Composition’s value proposition for candidates.
  • Identify and manage recruiting tools and platforms to better screen candidates and determine role fit, streamline communication and pipeline progression, and enhance onboarding.
  • Establish ideal candidate profiles and skill criteria for our most commonly filled roles and measure candidates against these templates, improving the likelihood of successful hiring.
  • Establish a repeatable hiring process to encourage interview best practices and ensure hiring manager adherence.
  • Track recruiting KPIs to inform decision-making and continuously improve pipeline health and process effectiveness.

Skills/Experience

  • 10-15+ years of direct recruiting experience, including full ownership of and success in filling senior roles.
  • Ideal candidate will also have 5+ years of experience within the Wealth Management industry.
  • Strong understanding of the advisory landscape, with a proven ability to attract and engage high-performing advisors.
  • Executive presence with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and serve as a trusted advisor.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and manage talent pipelines across multiple functions and seniority levels.
  • Experience optimizing recruiting operations (ATS, workflows, metrics).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable engaging directly with candidates, advisors, and leadership.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced education or relevant certifications a plus.
  • Composition Wealth does not provide immigration-related sponsorship (e.g., H-1B, TN, STEM OPT, etc.) for this role.

Your Competencies and Characteristics

  • Deep knowledge of advisor motivations, transition considerations, and market dynamics.
  • A thoughtful, proactive approach to relationship-building and talent cultivation.
  • Strategic thinking balanced with a willingness to execute and iterate.
  • Strong organizational skills and an ability to manage multiple searches and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Passion for building inclusive, mission-aligned teams that deliver exceptional client outcomes.
