Salary: $126,100 - 227,950 per year Requirements:

• I hold a Bachelor’s degree with 12-15 years of prior relevant experience or a Master’s degree with 10-13 years of prior relevant experience.
• I am eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
• I possess advanced language skills in C++ within a Linux environment.
• I have a strong eagerness to lead and mentor a group of senior and junior developers towards a successful product delivery.
• I am familiar with Software Design Patterns.
• I have experience using MBSE Systems Modeling Language (SysML) tools such as Cameo or Magic Draw.
• I am experienced with virtualized development and production environments (VMware, Docker, etc.).
• I have worked with Agile-based methodologies using the Atlassian tool suite (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket) or similar tools.
• I can effectively communicate and share ideas, concepts, designs, and technical plans with my team.
• I demonstrate constant integrity in my work with employees and customers.
• I am a U.S. Citizen and have the ability to obtain a Secret clearance.

Responsibilities:

• I provide technical leadership on small teams from project inception to delivery.
• I coordinate with project managers, customers, and other functional leads to develop schedules, budgets, allocate resources, and track progress.
• I analyze software requirements and decompose them into derived functional software requirements for the team to execute.
• I design architectures for autonomous systems and vehicles.
• I develop features for software projects based on derived requirements and work with a team of engineers to estimate effort for these features.
• I arbitrate challenging technical decisions with engineers by listening, understanding, and driving towards the best solution to meet project requirements.
• I collaborate with other software project leads to develop consistent processes and spearhead changes and innovations for our software development methodologies.
• I engage engineers as a mentor, enhancing their technical, communication, and executive skills.
• I provide guidance and support throughout the testing and evaluation process to ensure the delivery of high-quality products.

Leidos currently has an opening for a Lead Software Engineer to provide technical software engineering expertise in software project management and coordination as well as the design, development, and integration of Uncrewed Underwater Vehicle (UUV) programs.
