TITLE : Mechanical Design Engineer

Comp: Ranges from $70,000-$85,000/yr

Location: Rensselaer, IN

Our client is seeking immediate assistance in identifying a candidate for a Mechanical Design Engineer direct hire position in Rensselaer, IN

Responsibilities:

• Lead the mechanical design and development of the product
• Utilize AutoCAD 2D/3D for design.
• Apply Microsoft Excel for design calculations, data management, and documentation.
• Oversee projects from concept to completion, ensuring compliance with engineering standards and regulatory requirements.
• Design and optimize structural components (e.g., weight distribution, height considerations) and embedded systems.
• Collaborate with shop floor teams and management to ensure the successful execution of designs.
• Conduct on-site inspections to verify accuracy and feasibility of designs during production.
• Work with a CAD library to modify and update existing design packages.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 1+ year of experience in a similar engineering role
• Hands-on experience in manufacturing
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD 2D/3D; additional experience with AutoCAD Electrical or SolidWorks is a plus.
• Willingness to work in a collaborative shop environment, ensuring designs are built accurately and efficiently.
