Mid-Level Mechanical Engineer  

Celtic is hiring! Celtic Engineering, Inc., a leader in mechanical / machine-design and specialty engineering within the entertainment, industrial, and aerospace industries, seeks a mid-level Mechanical Engineer for our Windermere, FL office. 

The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated experienced mechanical engineer who will execute technical scopes of a project with some Manager and EOR supervision for larger or more complex projects, executing the detailed analysis and/or design of mechanical components and systems machine equipment and unique structures. 

As an experienced Mechanical Engineer, you will lead tasks in your expertise, nurturing the skills of less-experienced engineers as well as developing your own skills. You will also have the option to grow further as a technical expert or develop further into Project Management.

Your Contributions to Our Team:  

  • Contribute to the detailed analysis and/or design of mechanical components and systems. Assist planning the workflow and execution of the engineering work 
  • Work with the Manager and Customer to determine codes, loads, analysis methods and engineering tools appropriate 
  • Support and develop creative formulation of designs, and evaluation of alternatives 
  • Evaluation of and specification of actuation systems 
  • Take advantage of your comprehensive design and analytical experience with different mechanisms, actuation systems, analysis methods and tools, design and analysis of dynamic structures, vibrations, and fatigue 
  • Assist with the development engineers working with you or under your direction
  • Progressively increase your levels of engineering responsibility as you learn to be the Lead and Engineer of Record for projects. 
  • Produce hazard analyses, & failure modes and effects analyses
  • Support and Lead the production of mechanical fabrication and assembly drawing packages. Emphasize design for manufacturing and assembly (DFMA), and Tolerancing 
  • Provide manufacturing support, installation support, and testing support 
  • Champion thorough checking and QAQC of work you and others have performed 

 

 

What Contributions Do You Bring with You?  

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (required) 
  • Graduate degree with emphasis in Mechanical Engineering is preferred but not required 
  • Four years minimum experience working with the analysis and/or design of mechanisms and mechanical systems 
  • Working or proficient knowledge Solid Works and/or Ansys 
  • Four years minimum working knowledge with Solid Works in the creation of 3D models and drawing packages. PDM system experience preferred 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, interpersonal skills, and communication abilities 
  • FE Exam passed and working towards Professional Engineer (PE) License (preferred, not required) 
  • Familiarity with machine-style manufacturing, assembly, and installation drawings, including weldments and tolerancing, fabrication and assembly methods
