Overview:

We are seeking an ambitious and driven Physician Assistant (PA) to join a growing Cardiology Primary Care Practice located in Manhattan . This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a start-up practice that is affiliated with one of the top health systems in the city. The practice is expanding with plans to open two additional clinics this year. The primary goal is to grow the practice, and as part of the growth plan, the successful candidate will have the unique opportunity to become a partial owner in the practice over time.

You will work alongside a highly skilled cardiologist who provides high-quality care and will be integral in expanding the practice's services. This role primarily focuses on primary care within the cardiology setting but will include opportunities to assist with a range of cardiovascular conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform patient assessments, physical exams, and take medical histories.
  • Diagnose and treat common primary care conditions in an outpatient setting.
  • Develop and implement patient care plans, including managing chronic conditions such as hypertension, hyperlipidemia, diabetes, and other cardiovascular risk factors.
  • Assist in the management of cardiology patients, including those with heart disease, heart failure, and arrhythmias.
  • Educate patients on lifestyle modifications, including diet, exercise, and medication adherence.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including EKGs, lab work, and imaging studies.
  • Collaborate with the cardiologist and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
  • Assist in the development and growth of the practice, including participating in marketing efforts, patient acquisition, and expanding services.
  • Provide excellent patient care and customer service in a friendly and compassionate manner.

Qualifications:

  • Active NYS PA license (Physician Assistant) required.
  • Master’s degree in Physician Assistant studies from an accredited program.
  • Previous experience in cardiology or primary care preferred, but not required.
  • Strong clinical skills, including the ability to assess and manage cardiovascular patients.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong relationships with patients and their families.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a desire to contribute to the growth of a start-up practice.
  • Ability to work independently, manage patient caseloads, and collaborate within a small, growing team.
  • Willingness to take on leadership responsibilities as the practice expands and grows.
