Job Type: Full-Time

Laser Photonics Corporation, a leader in industrial laser solutions, is seeking a talented and motivated Project Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. If you have a strong background in automation systems, motion systems, robotics, control logic, and human-machine interfaces (HMIs), we want to hear from you! This role offers the opportunity to develop, program, and test cutting-edge automated systems that enhance our laser technology solutions and improve operational efficiency.

What You'll Do:

  • Design, program, and implement automation and robotic systems for laser photonics applications.
  • Collaborate with engineers to test, troubleshoot, and develop control systems for both new and existing products.
  • Set up and optimize motion systems, including servo, linear, and stepper motion controls and drivers.
  • Conduct proof-of-concept testing for new automation and robotic applications.
  • Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, including design specifications, wiring diagrams, user manuals, and test plans.
  • Independently generate innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges.
  • Analyze and interpret existing product coding and wiring diagrams.
  • Provide technical support and training to end-users and internal teams.
  • Participate in project planning, scheduling, and progress reporting.
  • Apply solid knowledge of electronic and electromechanical devices, including analog inputs/outputs, quadrature encoders, relays, solenoids, and proximity sensors.
  • Continuously improve processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and cost savings.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations related to automated systems.

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in designing, developing, and implementing automation or robotic systems.
  • Experience with automation controllers such as Aerotek, Bosch, FsCut, Copley, Crouzet, or DDCS CNC controllers.
  • Preferred experience with robotic control software and simulation tools (Fanuc, ROS, MATLAB, Simulink).
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, Visual Basic, or Java.
  • Experience programming Allen Bradley PLCs.
  • Familiarity with machine learning and vision systems.
