Job Summary:

The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing overall supply chain and logistics strategy to maximize process efficiency and productivity. Main duties include placing orders, receiving, storing, organizing services, packing, loading and delivering products to clients. Key objectives include improving productivity and efficiency, reducing costs, risk mitigation and securing high-quality materials for the company. This role is expected to drive the savings plan as well as manage the supply chain inventory stocking requirements to support JIT initiatives.

Daily Duties/Responsibilities:

• Manage the flow of goods and services throughout the manufacturing and company processes.

• Develop, benchmark and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for the Supply Chain scope.

• Define Inventory strategy. Manage coordination of production schedules, inventory levels and product demand.

• Manage contact with suppliers for ordering, follow up and tracking delivery status of all materials and services.

• Define Supplier selection strategy. Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors.

• Analyze trends and data to forecast future needs and streamline operations.

• Identify and mitigate supply chain risks and vulnerabilities.

• Identify cost saving opportunities and negotiate contracts with suppliers.

• Manage transportation and logistics planning to ensure timely delivery of goods.

• Develop and implement strategies to optimize efficiency and reduce waste.

• Support implementation of safety, health, environmental and quality control requirements.

• Support Quality Management System (QMS) for the facility and related supply chain processes.

• Ensure efficient collaboration and co-ordination between relevant departments including sales, project management, engineering, manufacturing, Quality, IT and senior management.

• Develop and maintain daily/weekly data/reporting to support efforts of other stakeholders (PM, Engineering, Production) to manage contract deliverables and build schedules.

• Develop and maintain weekly / monthly reporting of key supply chain KPI for management review.

Required Skills/Abilities: 

• Excellent management, supervisory and interpersonal skills.

• Strategic planning and thinking, system analysis and evaluation.

• Excellent time management skills and the ability to work under pressure while maintaining accuracy.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with all levels of management.

• Understanding of Lean Manufacturing.

• Understanding of electrical systems and power conversion.

• Knowledge of material requirements, planning systems and inventory management.

• Ability to work with confidential and classified information.

• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Project or related software.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in production, manufacturing, material science, engineering or equivalent.

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience of supply chain manager, procurement manager, or purchasing manager. Operation experience in a production facility is preferred. Experience with lean manufacturing, process flow and continuous improvement tools is desired.

• U.S. Citizenship required.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

• Periods of working in a factory environment with prolonged periods of standing.

• Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.

• Periodic travel.
