Job Description
*PLEASE NOTE THAT THE POSITION IS LOCATED IN WEST PALM BEACH, FLORIDA AND IS AN IN-OFFICE POSITION.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Ensure the plant is following DEP, EPA, and OSHA regulations.
- Coordinate and participate in inspections and audits with DEP, EPA, OSHA, Fire, Alarm, and all Federal, State, County, and City Agencies.
- Develop and implement a compliance program to ensure the organization operates in accordance with state and federal laws.
- Maintain and coordinate compliance policies and protocols on behalf of the organization.
- Determine compliance metrics and establish a system for tracking them.
- Continuous training or certification to remain up to date on federal and state laws related to the organization and update policies accordingly.
- Inspect equipment and machines for any unsafe conditions or violations received from DEP, EPA, or OSHA.
- Devise a schedule for preventative measures to avoid future violations from occurring.
- Develop and maintain chemical storage locations based on type (corrosives, oxidizers, flammable, water reactive, pyrophoric, and toxins).
- Oversee installations, maintenance, and disposal of chemicals, and other waste products (vendor quotes, follow-up on diagnostics and or repairs).
- Maintain SDS binders for warehouse and compliance.
- Coordinate and Maintain Employee training as current and in compliance with DEP, EPA, and OSHA (Hazcom, Haz Whopper, Forklift, Safety, etc…).
- Update and maintain emergency action/contingency plans.
- Train managers and employees on the emergency action/contingency plans annually.
- Maintain compliance and safety resource library for staff members to reference when they have questions.
- Work with an outside consulting firm to ensure all licenses and permits are up to date.
- Stop any unsafe acts or processes that may be dangerous or unhealthy.
- Maintain records and resolve issues that involve employees or plant regarding accidents, incidences, or dangerous practices.
- Prepare reports for plant or employee accidents and occurrences for Human Resources and upper management.
- Perform compliance audits to determine whether established protocols are being followed and can be improved.
- Maintain up-to-date written documentation and policies related to the organization's business activities.
- Work with companies regarding first-aid kits stocked and supplied throughout the facility.
- Perform additional duties as requested.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2+ years prior experience in environmental risk management or compliance roles.
- Must have, or be willing to obtain, compliance certifications.
- Superior attention to detail to identify and correct risky practices.
- Must be a strong communicator and capable of expressing oneself clearly both speaking and in writing.
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws and regulations (DEP/EPA/OSHA).
- Experience with DEP, EPA, and OSHA inspections.
- Possess a collaborative personality and be open to suggestions from team members.
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to accurately interpret complex documents and policies.
- Strong time management and organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
ITAR Facility - Pre-employment drug testing is required. Company does perform random drug and alcohol testing quarterly.
HOURS: - Mon - Friday: 7:00 am - 4:30 pm.

Salary: $75,000 - $85,000 annually. (salary commensurate with experience).
