I-9 Compliance Specialist (Remote, Temporary)

Temp position -2 month

Pay $18 an hour

About the Role:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and communicative I-9 Compliance Specialist to join our team on a temporary basis. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring our employee I-9 records are up-to-date and compliant. You will be responsible for reaching out to employees, scheduling virtual meetings, and conducting I-9 verifications using the LawLogix/Guardian system. This role requires excellent communication skills, a high level of organization, and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.

Responsibilities:

• I-9 Remediation: Proactively contact employees via email and text to inform them of I-9 non-compliance identified during an internal audit.
• Clearly explain the required actions and provide options for completing the I-9, including virtual video calls.
• Guide employees through the process of completing Section 1 of the I-9 prior to the virtual meeting.
• Schedule virtual I-9 meetings using Microsoft Bookings, ensuring convenient times for employees.
• Conduct virtual I-9 verification meetings (less than 10 minutes each), ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Provide timely follow-up to ensure employees complete all necessary steps.
• I-9 Section 3 Updates: Schedule and conduct virtual meetings for I-9 Section 3 updates, following the same process as I-9 remediation.
• Provide clear instructions and support to employees throughout the update process.
• Communication and Escalation: Maintain accurate records of all communication and actions taken within the LawLogix/Guardian system.
• Effectively manage employee inquiries and address concerns promptly.
• Escalate non-responsive employees to their respective leaders for timely resolution.
• Maintain a high level of professionalism, even when dealing with difficult team members.
• General HR Support: Support the New Employee Experience as needed.
• Assist with employee communications.
• Aggregate information for reporting purposes.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Minimum of two years of work-related experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, Bookings).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and 1 manage multiple tasks simultaneously. 2
