Information Technology (IT) Manager – Job Description
- Location: 100% Onsite – Santa Clara, CA
- Travel: Up to 10%
- Schedule: Must be able to work overtime and weekends as needed
Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT Manager to lead and manage the company's technology infrastructure and operations across 40 locations . This role requires a strategic thinker with hands-on expertise in IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and system management, alongside exceptional leadership and communication skills . The IT Manager will collaborate with executive leadership to develop and execute technology strategies that align with business objectives while ensuring PCI compliance , security, and operational reliability.
Key Responsibilities
IT Strategy & Leadership
- Define and implement the company's IT strategy , ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Lead the design, implementation, and management of IT infrastructure across all locations.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to develop a long-term technology roadmap and budget, considering key architectural and build vs. buy decisions.
- Establish and maintain relationships with major technology vendors to ensure efficient service delivery.
- Drive technology innovation and oversee the execution of new IT initiatives.
- Manage and mentor a team of IT professionals , providing leadership, guidance, and performance feedback.
- Act as a liaison between IT and cross-functional departments to deliver technology solutions that meet business needs.
Infrastructure & Systems Management
- Oversee and maintain network infrastructure , including Netgear, Meraki, and Fortinet platforms.
- Manage firewalls, network security , and system configurations to ensure maximum uptime and performance.
- Enforce PCI compliance and implement robust cybersecurity protocols.
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans and backup procedures to protect company data.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, serving as the escalation point for IT incidents.
Project & Operations Management
- Lead IT projects related to infrastructure upgrades, system implementations, and process improvements.
- Ensure timely project delivery within scope, budget, and timeline constraints.
- Support multi-site IT operations , collaborating with remote teams and providing on-site support as needed.
- Manage IT budgets , track expenses, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Work in a consultative fashion with department heads (Operations, Accounting, HR, Supply, Property Management, etc.) to introduce technologies that enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Cybersecurity & Compliance
- Ensure the protection of company data by designing and enforcing a cybersecurity policy .
- Maintain PCI compliance and oversee security systems to protect against potential threats.
- Implement security monitoring tools and conduct regular vulnerability assessments .

Qualifications & Experience
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (Master's preferred).
- 5+ years of IT leadership experience , preferably in mid-size companies within the petroleum, retail, or convenience sectors.
- Proven expertise in infrastructure management, cybersecurity, and system administration .
- Hands-on experience with Netgear, Meraki, and Fortinet platforms.
- Demonstrated project management skills , with a track record of successful execution.
- Strong knowledge of PCI compliance and data protection protocols.
- Effective team leadership and mentoring abilities.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and adaptability in fast-paced environments.
Preferred:
- Experience in retail IT environments with multi-location support.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms and virtualization technologies.
- Strong vendor management skills and experience with contract negotiations .
- Experience with on-demand support models .
Technical Skills
