General Job Description

Dogwood Industries is seeking a Laborer to join our team. The core mission of the Swing Shift Laborer is to support the fabrication and assembly of steel building structures in accordance with plans, specifications, and quality control hold points in an industrial manufacturing atmosphere. The Laborer needs to be flexible and willing to learn a range of tasks required by each project scope. These duties can include material handling, fabrication work, assembly work, painting, cleaning and more. The Laborer must understand written and verbal instruction.

There is a $2.00 shift differential for all hours worked on the swing shift.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Ability to follow instructions and execute assigned duties
• Complete tasks within set timeframes to ensure goals are met
• Use hand and power tools to clean and prep steel
• Assist in the assembly and installation of panels and other components
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues
• Follow safety guidelines and procedures at all times
• Perform general site clean-up and preparation tasks
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma, general education degree or vocational degree
• Experience with general trade skills for siding/roofing/metalworking or assembly a plus
• Metal building and construction installation a plus
• Ability to be self-directed, requiring little or no supervision
• Ability to work well with others and participate as a team member when appropriate

Physical Requirements/ Work Environment

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to have full range of mobility in upper and lower body, able to reach overhead, able to work in various positions, including, but not limited to, stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling, squatting; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance for extended periods of time. Be able to lift, pull and push material and equipment to complete assigned job tasks. Be able to lift 70 pounds. The employee will be exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, fumes, and odors. This position requires physical activity performing somewhat strenuous daily activities in a primarily production environment. The work environment characteristics here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

Compensation

$22.00 - $28.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

There is a $2.00 shift differential for all hours worked on the swing shift.

Location and Hours

• This is an onsite position at the Dogwood Factory Office at 500 Metcalf St, Sedro-Woolley, WA 98284.
• This is a swing shift position from 4:15pm to 2:45am, unless directed otherwise.
