Job Description

As Florida's premier distributor of craft and import beer, wine, spirits, and non-alcoholic beverages, we are seeking an aggressive, passionate, self-starting individual, who has what it takes to join our winning sales management team. Primary Function: This territory for this position includes all of the south Florida teams, reporting to the General Manager. This person will be responsible for accomplishing sales goals by ensuring a uniform District Sales Management approach in alignment with the state. They will drive key performance indicators (KPIs) by assisting in sales team development and training, as well as through their efforts in developing and executing action plans where necessary to improve performance and positively impact sales in the market.

Time in Market: This role will require a substantial amount of travel in Florida, with up to 80% of time being spent in the market, across all territories managed by the employee. There will be overnight travel in-state. A rotational schedule throughout territories will be expected, with actions including (but not limited to) : DM work with, sales team work with, one-on-one meetings, major partner retailer meetings, and market surveys. Additionally to direct engagements, this position will also often be in an observational role for ongoing development of our District Sales Management team.

Principle Responsibilities:

  • Maintain effective customer relations and promote the goodwill of the company throughout the trade area
  • Supervise and direct assigned route sales managers & reps to ensure the greatest possible sales and distribution of products and maintain morale and motivation
  • Conduct minimum monthly meetings with District Sales Managers
  • Implement and execute the sales strategies of the company
  • Schedule personnel to cover promotional activities, work withs, crew drives
  • Handling of supplier relationships as required
  • Identify and emphasize sales and placements in key accounts
  • Assist in organizing the sales department's structure including assigning accounts, territories
  • Oversee recruitment, selection, and training of the sales team
  • Assist in route efficiency / phasing to maximize time & dollars per stop
  • Communicate with Key Account Managers on product opportunities & develop approaches in that trade channel
  • Communicate with District Managers on scheduling time-appropriate joint efforts in the market within the sales teams to drive portfolio knowledge and sales in the market
  • Communicate with the State Sales Manager on prepared monthly sales objectives and a plan of action related to business activities
  • Maintain awareness of the industry and respond to new developments

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • 5+ years of proven consumer products and route sales and management experience required.
  • 2+ years of 2nd level management experience (managing managers)
  • Familiarity with the bar/restaurant industry and the liquor retail industry a plus
  • Desired knowledge of profit story selling and coaching
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Valid and clean driver's license and reliable transportation
